The long truth about Elis vingar (Elis\u00b4wings)<\/h2>\n

Elis\u00b4s wings is truly a name for a special blend of Swedish snus by Krook. Elis was a farmer in S\u00e4by on Visings\u00f6 and one of the island\u00b4s first wind turbines was built on his land, locally known as Elis\u00b4 wings. I\u00b4ve known this for more than 30 years.
\nGood name, wind turbine with three wings- three varieties of snus; Tobacco wings, Sweet wings and Hot wings. Done!
\nOne day, as I was talking to Stefan, one of Elis\u00b4s sons I told him about my snus. Great, he said, Elis wings is our old hockeyteam. The team was called the Juniors to start with. After a while of winning games, catching the boat to the mainland and challenging teams there they became quite good.
\nTheir confidence probably grew and they needed a new, cooler name. The Juniors wasn\u00b4t good enough. As they stod on Elis farm in S\u00e4by and discussed it next to Elis\u00b4old car, an OPEL kadett, one of them looked at the black wing sticking out over the rear window. \u00b4That\u00b4s it\u00b4, he said. \u00b4Our name will be Elis\u00b4 wings \u2013 that\u00b4s a cool name\u00b4.
\nSo that was it.

The philosophy behind the tobaccoplants that became snus.<\/h2>\n

Our snus is a blend of different tobaccoes choosen from experience. Some plants are left as seed plants, and subsequently we can have our own fr\u00f6bank – \u00b4bank of seeds\u00b4 and continue growing the best plants year after year. At harvest time we decide on curing and storing methods. Factors that are important to the final result. The philosophy in the production is to use traditional methods and a modern touch that can work together for a sustainable craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

Categories according to Krook.<\/h3>\n

The selection of different parts of the tobaccoplant and size of the cut or ground tobacco, indeed gives a personal touch to the final Swedish snus.
\nFinely ground tobacco leaves and plant parts, five categories;<\/strong>
\nCroptwig<\/strong>, is flour from the ridge (central midrib) of the leaves.
\nAll Lamina<\/strong>, this is exclusively flour from leaf mass.
\nLamina<\/strong>, consists of \u00be All Lamina and \u00bc Croptwig.
\nLeaf flour<\/strong>, is tobacco flour from leaf mass and leaves veins.

The refined Elis\u00b4wings base blend of snus<\/h2>\n

I refine the base blend into three different sorts of snus.<\/p>\n

Tobacco wings<\/strong>, medium to fine consistence, which has an aroma of the stored tobacco.<\/p>\n

Sweet wings<\/strong>, medium to fine consistence, which is a blend with locally produced honey and a hint of natural licorice.<\/p>\n
